Despite this,  Jokic played 80 games for the Nuggets during the 2015–16 season, including 55 starts. He scored 10 points and a rebounding average of seven per game. During his second NBA season, Jokic’s star continued to soar. He has the fourth-most triple-doubles in the league with six. He concluded the 2016-17 season with 16.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, earning second in the NBA’s Most-Improved Player vote. Jokic averaged a double-double in the following season, with 18.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

The Nuggets rewarded him with a new five-year contract for $148 million the following summer.

After signing the new deal, Jokicć had his most outstanding season in 2018-19. 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in 80 games. Denver made the playoffs with his first All-Star selection. Jokicć averaged 25.1 points and 13 rebounds in 14 postseason games.

His performance in the Serbian League was even more astounding when he averaged 18.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
