The Titans are expected to sign WR DeAndre Hopkins

In a recent development, DeAndre Hopkins, a highly acclaimed wide receiver who has been named All-Pro three times, has made a decision regarding his future in the National Football League (NFL).

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports NFL Insider reported that Hopkins, a talented player, has agreed to join the Tennessee Titans, which is an exciting development for football fans.

This news comes after Hopkins previously visited the club earlier in the offseason, indicating a mutual interest between the player and the team.

According to NFL Media, a new contract has been agreed upon in the world of sports. The deal is set to span over a period of two years and is valued at $26 million.

However, with the inclusion of certain incentives, the total value of the contract could potentially reach up to $32 million. According to sources, the anticipated agreement is set to be officially completed in the early stages of the upcoming week.

In a new revelation, it has been revealed that Hopkins, the renowned football player, has the potential to earn an impressive sum of up to $3 million in incentives every season.

These incentives are contingent upon various factors, including his performance in terms of receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

Notably, he stands to gain a maximum of $1 million in bonuses based on his overall performance in these key areas.

This lucrative opportunity presents an additional motivation for Hopkins to excel on the field and further solidify his position as a top-tier player in the league.

In an interesting connection, it has been revealed that Titans coach Mike Vrabel had previously worked closely with star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins during their time with the Houston Texans.

Vrabel, who initially served as the linebackers coach and later as the defensive coordinator for the Texans, witnessed Hopkins’ exceptional talent firsthand.

It is worth noting that during Vrabel’s tenure, Hopkins received the honor of being voted to two out of his five career Pro Bowls.

This shared history between coach and player adds an intriguing dimension to their current roles within the NFL. In 2019, DeAndre Hopkins showcased his exceptional skills as a wide receiver by making an impressive 104 receptions for a total of 1,165 yards and scoring seven touchdowns.

It is worth noting that during this time, Tim Kelly, who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, was the one responsible for calling the plays for the Houston Texans.

In a surprising move, the Arizona Cardinals made the decision to release star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on May 26th.

This unexpected development has sent shockwaves through the football community, leaving fans and analysts alike questioning the reasoning behind this decision.

Hopkins, known for his exceptional skills and game-changing abilities, has been a key player for the Cardinals. The future of the player in Arizona has been uncertain since the conclusion of the 2022 season due to his significant salary cap hit.

With a team-high of $30.75 million, he holds the highest cap hit among wide receivers in the NFL and the seventh highest overall.

Last season, the Titans’ wide receiver group showcased their skills with a combined total of two impressive 100-yard receiving games.

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Hopkins managed to achieve an impressive total despite facing a setback at the beginning of the season.

Due to a suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, he was forced to sit out the first six games.

However, Hopkins proved his worth by making a significant impact upon his return to the field. In an impressive display of skill and determination, the player concluded the season with a total of 64 receptions, amassing an impressive 717 yards and scoring three touchdowns.

This remarkable feat was achieved over the course of nine games, showcasing the player’s consistent performance and contribution to the team’s success.

Titans sign wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins???

The Tennessee Titans are likely to sign All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins after a long relationship, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones said. NFL Media says that the two-year deal will pay him $26 million in 2023 and 2024, up to $15 million of which will come in the first year.

Hopkins can get up to $3 million in incentives each season, and he can get up to $1 million in bonuses depending on how many catches, yards, and touchdowns he makes.

Stephen Oh of SportsLine tried to predict how the signing would affect Tennessee, and he found that it would make it much more likely for them to win the AFC South and make the playoffs.

It’s obvious why. Before this deal, Tennessee’s group of pass-catchers was one of the least dangerous in the league.

The Titans’ starting wide receivers were supposed to be 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks, fourth-year free agent Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and 2022 fifth-round pick Kyle Philips.

Now, Hopkins will probably play next to Burks, and Westbrook-Ikhine will go back to being a deep threat when needed.

Hopkins has spent most of his career as an outside receiver. However, last year was one of the few times he played in the slot, so it is possible that the Titans will use him that way as well.
